Well, that was an unexpected break! While Christmas with
family was awesome, I soon after lost my computer. 6 years later and the poor
thing finally died. I managed to get everything backed up thankfully so nothing
was lost. The struggle between getting a new PC or an iMac was a tough one. I eventually
settled on a PC as most of my current work and programs are PC format. However,
there is an iPad in the not to distant future.
I am not a fan of making resolutions, I feel its only
setting myself up to fail. I will however set some reasonable goals I would
like to accomplish over the year. This leaves me open for some good times and achievements
as well as opportunity to forgive myself if I should fail a little bit on this
goal, or need to start over. One of my
goals this year is to blog every month. I plan on accomplishing this by making
1 Christmas card or more a month. This will also ease some of the mad dash to
make cards in November – win win!

To help this goal along, I’ve bought myself a few little
treats I’ve wonted for a while from Amazon. A pair of EK Success tweezers, post
it tape, and an EK Success powder tool. There were also some non-craft related
treats like a
TubShroom,
iPhone holder, and this
can drainer.
I also picked up a Y15 Copic, watercolour paper and some
mixed media paper to try out, when I grabbed some picture frames for my fan
expo autographs. My craft room doubles as my office and guest room – it's my
little nerd haven. I will do a room tour once things are done and together.
To put this new mixed media paper to the test I used this cute
stamp from Your Next Stamp, Seasonal Sweeties which unfortunately doesn’t seem
to be available any more.
For this card, I used my Prisma colors, gamsol, clean colour
real brush markers, and attempted Copics but that did not work very well. I’m enjoying the texture of the paper, its
allowing for single layer like I did here, multiple layers and it blends nicely
with gamsol.
