Hot Coco

I'm a day late, but finally getting my card loaded for May. I had some out of town meetings for work that got in the way of crafting - one day I will learn and have things ready a head of time!  I did manage to get a good portion of my other “project” done and will try to get that loaded soon.

This was another one that I kept clean and simple. Left over piece of pattern paper from one of my previous cads, craft card base, and a stamped out Hot Cocoa Hugs from Your Next Stamp. Colours simply and light pressure with my prisma pencils.

I made the mug the bold focus to go with the paper, and kept the mice, whip topping & marshmallows pale for some contrast.

Cute and Simple

April has been a month of new things, and another round of sick. New role at work has brought in a lot of new experiences, all which have been great so far! I have some new product I ordered from Simon Says Stamp, I will show that off once it gets here. Also, I have an order coming from Winnie and Walter. Can't wait for those to come. There were some birthdays, and a baby shower. As typical of me, I forgot to take pictures of the cards!

Now that I’m feeling better I finally had time to get my monthly Christmas card made. I've kept this one simple and pretty. Image is from Art Impression, Holly Jolly set, and I did some very basic Copic colouring, only 1-2 markers. I used SSS stitched rectangles and some patterns paper. The card was finished with some sequins from Studio Katia, 4mm Icy Breeze and a medium clear round drop on the hats pompom - unfortunately hard to see in the picture.
Happy crafting!

Out of the Comfort Zone

March has had be a bit pressed for time. Birthday, crazy over time, brother coming home, busted work chair, messy dripping pantry (thank you exploded soda can! There’s a reason I don’t normally have this stuff in the house haha!) and a new role at my full-time job. Tomorrow brings a busy day of cleaning, moving things around, shopping, and TAXES.

Sticking to my commitment, I've made a simple card but it’s out of my comfort zone. White on white with a pop of water colour in Santa. Using a Sizzix Embossing Folder (Christmas Words, which I think is now retired?) and a water coloured Santa2Stamp from Stamps of Life this card turned out better than I though!  I added some Black Tsukineko Irresistibles on the eyes to make them pop.

I have another project I’ve started and will hopefully have that posted soon, stay tuned!

Prisma Practice

This month I kept things very simple and easy. I’ve been focusing on my Prisma colouring, experimenting with different papers trying to find what I prefer. This card was stamped with the Misti, using SSS blank ink. The stamp is one I showed before from Stampendous.

I see all these beautiful pencil colouring and wondering why I can’t achieve the same affect. Layering. The answer is layering. I’ve been watching videos and that’s what I’m missing. So this time I have practiced my layers, taking my time and got some of the best results I’ve had. I’m keeping it simple with a ginger cat as inspiration.

Here’s my finished product.  Simple patterned paper red frame, cut with SSS stitched rectangles and glued to a top folding note card.
